Editorial Policy

Trust should be checkable. This page documents how EditorialFox guides are researched, written, reviewed, corrected, and funded — so you can judge our method, not just our tone.

The mission

Publish the sharpest useful answer to real questions across technology, business, wellness, real estate, fashion, gaming, and entertainment. Every piece faces the same bar: does it fully answer the question a real person asked, honestly enough to hand to a friend?

Research standards

  • Guides begin from primary and authoritative sources — official documentation, government data, peer-reviewed research where relevant, and direct verification where practical.
  • Competing articles are not sources. What ranks is, at most, a map of what people ask — never where answers come from.
  • Claims that cannot be verified are removed. Estimates are labeled as estimates, with the reasoning visible.
  • Genuinely contested topics are presented as contested; manufactured certainty is a form of lying.

Review and accuracy

Every article is checked before publication for factual accuracy, internal consistency, and clarity. Fast-moving numbers are described as ranges with mechanisms rather than precision that expires in a month, and articles are refreshed when the underlying facts materially change.

The stricter standard for money and health

Business, Real Estate, and Wellness content involves decisions where errors cost real money or wellbeing. These guides carry an inline editorial note labeling them education rather than advice; they name the moments a licensed professional should take over; and they refuse hype in both directions — no fear-mongering, no get-rich framing, no miracle anything.

Independence and money

  • Coverage cannot be bought. Articles, rankings, and verdicts are not for sale, and partnership inquiries that request editorial influence are declined.
  • Advertising, if present, stays visually distinct from editorial content and has no vote in it.
  • Affiliate links, where used, are disclosed — see the Affiliate Disclosure — and commissions never decide recommendations, which is why our guides so often conclude that the free option is the honest answer.

Corrections

Verified factual errors are fixed promptly and visibly, with notes on substantive changes. Report them to corrections@editorialfox.com with the link and the claim — it is our priority inbox, typically handled within one to two business days, and it genuinely improves the site for every reader after you.

Originality
