Terms nobody can read protect nobody, so these are written in working English. The short of it: read and share links freely, do not steal or scrape the work, do not attack the site, and understand that articles are information rather than professional advice or guarantees. The long version follows.
1. Scope
EditorialFox (“the site”, “we”) publishes articles and guides at editorialfox.com. These Terms cover all site content and features, alongside the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer, and Affiliate Disclosure, each incorporated by reference.
2. Acceptable use
The site is free for personal, non-commercial reading. In exchange, you agree not to:
- Scrape, bulk-download, or harvest content — including for machine-learning training sets — without written permission.
- Republish or redistribute articles or images in whole or substantial part without permission (links, brief attributed quotations, and social sharing are welcome).
- Probe, overload, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure.
- Transmit malware or unlawful material via the site, or impersonate EditorialFox.
- Frame or mirror the site in ways that strip attribution or misrepresent origin.
3. Intellectual property
All original content — articles, images, branding, design — belongs to EditorialFox under copyright and related laws; the EditorialFox name and marks identify us alone. Third-party product and company names appearing in articles belong to their owners and appear for identification and commentary, implying no endorsement in either direction. Reuse requests via the Contact page are usually granted with attribution.
4. Information, not advice
Site content is general information and education. It is not financial, investment, medical, legal, tax, or real estate advice; no professional or fiduciary relationship arises from reading. Facts are verified at publication, but laws, prices, rates, and product realities change. Before consequential decisions — particularly involving money, health, or housing — verify current facts and consult qualified professionals who know your situation. The Disclaimer elaborates and is part of these Terms.
5. Third-party links
Articles link outward when useful. We do not control external sites, and linking is not endorsement of everything at a destination; their terms and privacy practices govern once you leave. Dealings between you and third parties are yours and theirs alone.
6. Ads and affiliates
The site may run advertising and use affiliate links, which can earn us commissions at no cost to you. Editorial independence is not negotiable: sponsors and programs never dictate content, per the Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Policy.
7. No warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest lawful extent we disclaim all warranties, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for purpose, and non-infringement — and do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free content, or fitness for your particular circumstances.
8. Liability limits
To the fullest lawful extent, EditorialFox and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including losses from reliance on content — arising from site use. Where exclusion is not permitted, liability is limited to the maximum degree law allows; nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Indemnity
You agree to hold EditorialFox harmless from claims and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the site.
10. Changes and termination
We may modify or discontinue site features, and may revise these Terms with the date above updated — material changes flagged prominently; continued use is acceptance. Access may be restricted for conduct violating these Terms, with the property, warranty, liability, and indemnity sections surviving.
11. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the operator’s jurisdiction, disputes resolved in its courts — though nearly everything is fixable faster by simply emailing us first.
